Read and blacked #noViolence

There’s a call from the depths of the shadows of the trees.
No, it’s but a whisper…no a whimper
A finger pointing to the sky as if to hold back its ghost,
By passing through the hook in the tail, where it anchored once
And gave purpose to the mouth, seeks the words.
Yesterday adrenaline threw a party and welled up,
As the radios piled up the tension in the atmosphere
In the warehouse of his soul. The finger lowers, slowly.
Maybe not this time. Maybe it will have to let go. Maybe the eagle
Will fly away with the message and alert the angels, or
Inspire a new way to change, a new way to love.
Just a whimper in the bushes, now red and black,
With caking blood clinging to the midribs as if
Scared to touch the screaming ground, where many dead lie.
Just a whimper, oblivious to those running around it, defending,
Taking bullets, giving bullets. This looks like some buffet
In Hell. Brothers are sharing a beautiful meal of hate,
While the future hangs on a finger, which wished for more
Than dying slowly in the clamour of unwanted war.

1st of October 2017, my kids almost lost their only great grandmum, but many parents shall have to bury their children, and some children will have to bury their parents. My deepest condolences brothers and sisters.

I don’t know about you, but a bullet never solved any problem. When the protagonists are all dead, all that’s left is hate in the hearts of the grievers, and revenge hangs heavy like the reek of putrid grudges. Hate begets hate, love begets love. Let’s be humble and love each other, for like with everything, you can only decide when the war is born, you don’t know the day nor the hour when everything is so torn that the war must die

Like with every positive message, I fear this will be read and blacked out…please share. Let’s stop the spiral of hate!

Food for soldiers #stopWar

So, I’m experimeting with a new structure for poetry, to express contrast in the same poem, by juxtaposing two complete poems into a single poem 🙂 Crazy right?
We could call it Lego poetry …or nyonglema poetry (not too conceited is the bard hey?)
I attempt here to contrast what we spend on food vs what we spend on wars, then complain that there’s famine on parts of the globe.

Well, my first attempt wasn’t too successful; only the beginning was okish…so here goes the okish part of my lego poem

How much should we spend on food For soldiers
Rather than myriad weapons To kill humanity?

And this is the full version:

How much should we spend on food For soldiers
Rather than myriad weapons To kill humanity?
Blood fills the land where all it takes is a
Little water to kill Little greed and ill-
uminate green which will breed new harbours
For humanity to be filled with the stuff that
Heals, not which kills everything down to dust.

I’d like to know what you think of this new form and any links to your blogs if you attempt something in this form. I find it rather complex because each poem should be independent, and put together they should still make sense….complex huh? But it’s fun working with strict forms sometimes….it’s like a painting. Do you think the contrast adds to the meaning? Please comment below…

Laudatur probitas #politics

It all starts with a good intention

If I could change the world?
The switching of seasons can’t bring constancy of reason,
Where my people live treason, and profound division
In silence, in a world
Where their full potential is nobody’s goddamn mission.

And escalates with good intention

	And that’s insane!
My damn mission is to alleviate your burdens,
Elevate the status quo, no matter what the wardens
Say in this bloody prison, I’m breaking the chains
I’m going to fight for you sisters and brethren!

And intentions with fodder gain attention
And graciously turn to further actions

	Fight till my blood’s gone.
Walk with me, fallen and lost, walk with me past the present
Into a future where there’s no sullen, no dreams evanescent
	Only throngs growing strong,
And I’ll make you see Heaven on Earth when I’m president!

And the actions grow to the expectations
Of those good intentions

And now I’m president, how much better!
See justice live in day, live from vampirism of before,
See collaboration with the opposition, but I want more!
Let’s find solution to every matter
Through collaboration, I’ve told you I need more and more.

And temptation comes to haunt the decisions
As attention clouds intentions, warping the actions

I told you I need more, more!
Walk with me. What? I said coercion isn’t a foreign language,
When the army can assuage, or assiege your verbiage
Of disses to me, and my chores!
Walk with me now, or you’ll be safe from hampering us in your cage!

And the actions warped by other intentions…

For we must reach this target,
Set by him who pays our bills. We must comply with the majority’s wish.
Nothing else matters than keeping this power I have, this power which
	Ebbs from my assets,
And if you think of stopping me, we’ll have you served a gifted dish

And the actions warped by other intentions…

	And if anybody complains,
We are taking them out. Ungrateful lot, I made you who you are
And now you question the very mind that took you out of mar
	Into a new existence plane?
Damn you all, let’s see who can get me off this high of power!

And the actions kill the budding good intentions,
As if good intentions were greed,
Forgetting, where they came from,
Forgetting that they were fighting greed.

And that all started with a good intention.

On Addiction #slaveToPleasure

It pulls you as much as you pull it
It pulls you as much as you pull it.

You’re both master and slave to each other,
Satisfying your raster of cravings in destructive instants.
And in those instants when the cage feels sweeter,
You’re trapped further by some form of trance.

It pulls you as much as you pull it
It pulls you as much as you pull it.

You draw it towards you, feeling like an eagle
Patrolling your turf, oblivious to the nails sinking into
Your hands, as delusional you feel you’re in control.
You’re not. Each pull of yours meets Newton’s memento.

It pulls you as much as you pull it
But won’t push you even if you push it.

What ?! That’s the puzzle that rings the alarm:
You’re stuck in a draining flooded tub
And elusive are the objects which could grab your arm
And yank you out. Even when this beast was but a cub,

It pulled you much more than you pulled it
It’s pulling you much more than you can push it.

The Last Man Standing #supportWidows #supportWidowers #fakeProphets

The wind gusts kissed the rain drops when we met in that MRS station :
Two souls seeking shelter but finding fetter for love in total elation.
Loving each instant of evening trips, the knighting pose to propose,
The stressful preparation together, and the white fairy wings we chose
To carry me to the next level of our bond, you in black, me in white
Sealing this bond, this bond, this bond, with one golden knot so tight

You said you’d be the third set of footsteps in the sand of my homeward journey,
Lifting me to the Lord’s arms, chaining your sad days to my listening gurney
Walking me to the Lord’s arms on that day we all must give back our depth
And lie together lifeless dust on lifeless dust playing the game of death.
Together in life we raced the shopping bustle, beat the crowded morning hustle
So should release every muscle at the same time to make simultaneous fossils

The wind gusts are kissing rain drops in another bland dying MRS station
And one soul seeks shelter or fetter but finds neither in total desperation
Hating each instant evening weeps, pics jocose now a dead wilted rose
The stressful separation, bad weather and the dark dreary things that I chose
To put in the box to carry you to the next level of God’s bond of light,
Killing this bond, this bond, this bond with one last breath … then night.

You said, you swore in breaths of love and swore and said some more
That you’ll be there, that this heart will never be bare, that sad yore’s lore
Of Capulet’s daughter’s end was never coming near this bond this bond this bond
And wound up leaving me standing alone, rended, shattered, worthless mound,
Lost, battered with tears digging ditches on these cheeks missing your every kiss,
Pale, scarred, marred, a fossil of some other time that knew something of bliss.

The wind gusts are fighting the rain drops in another dead MRS station
And I’m standing tethered to the past, seeking instant solution or re-creation.
This man’s one of God’s keeps, and sure has a solution to brighten my prose
For I’ve seen his promise take form in the sight of a blind man at his shows.
Oh! To find the third steps and make this burden of loss once again light
I’ll trust these words which God’s given this human creature of might.

-Then later… –

The wind gusts are gone, no rain drops in the dusty lonely MRS station
And I’m lying down praying my last, abandoned and in want of some medication.
That man standing’s not God’s tweet! Yes I paid in cash for all my throes,
But never got sight, never walked, just paid more and more to feed my woes
Oh come long lost love, lead the way to the tunnel bright with God’s light
To rebuild this bond this bond this bond in one golden knot more tight.

Gun protection #gunViolence

There lay the petri dish in the danger zone,
Fungi flying around to infect those lovely scones
So they put in bacteria to control
And gave each one license to roll
But didn’t plan the proliferation that makes graves of homes

Looking back at the 2000s #everythingGoes #libertinage

One thousand years ago…I think in 2000-something, or so,

The cure to any basal crave procured in dark alleys was to

Authorise it illico presto

As some means of control

But did anything get better?…well I don’t think so.

Bloody Mosquitoes #mosquito #malariaKills #malaria #anopheles

Feeeeeeeen! Feeeeeeeeen! The nifty nuisance
Floats about my ears whispering loudly
As if to ask for permission to sink  and steal
My silently speeding oxygen carriers from my veins.
It’s 32°C by my Jolla while the crickets chirp their love away
And some toads splash about their puddle trying to sing Vandross songs
(More like murdering them, but their ladies love it that way).
The still air hangs about my nose with scents from the nearby bush
While the bats are setting their gear for their nightly hunts.
I’m sitting here trying to write, but feeeeeeeeen
Those haughtily naughty fellows play their tune
And I roughly slap away to avert doom:
Who can imagine that these seemingly innocent notes
Have had malaria kill so many innocent souls?

Nightmare #nightmare #halloween #scare

The beast burst out of the earth; birth of horror,
So bright white in colour, but for the horror you’d think it’s god,
I shuddered and cursed, my neighbours stuttered then turned.
My soul gutted by fear and in turn I turned and fled faster than Roadrunner.

Saw the others ahead and I’s tailing in the rear!
I wish I was a Ferrari to change gear and go faster than Schumacher!
But the creature came nearer at every step I dared
Till I hit a rock and landed flat on my bed.

All sweating! Phew! What kind of dream had I just had?
Anyway, I closed my eyes and in a few minutes was back to dreaming:
Colourful scenery, all covered in greenery
No more screaming…what’s that over there grinning?

Uh oh! It’s back to screaming, somebody call for help oh!
Before a young boy lose his life in a bone-filled blood pool
‘Cos those teeth I see below those eyes filled with greed
Could chew a Cat tractor; go figure what’ll do to me!

I run some more, but I’m running on my knees!
I see why I’ve been slower than Kanye on a beat,
And why my life chance are looking slimmer than Chantal Ayiss’
But as the jaw was about to close on me, my eyes opened and you bet I’m not falling back asleep!
