Sleep …or not #insomnia

The waves quietly pat the boat where the sheep jump the gates, the clouds float away, the squeegee mops away at the drowning noises of today’s hustle.

The buildings walk next to the roads in discourse about when they saw me, and invite a whole bunch of faces to their rave.

I reach out as they beckon, but there’s a clock wearing a silky tie, with the smaller side tugging on my wrist. The conversations turn into murmurs I want to hear, but

There I go, pulled to pixels, mouses (mice) and little squares taunting me, wishing to be poked at to make the DOW indices hop around.

Sorry guys, I have to pick the DOW

IDYLLIA (2002) #loveLost #gone #lonely

After midnight, a tear dribbles down my jaw,

My heart is torn; the darkness is rushing in,

I have been waiting forlorn for the sun at my door,

To see Idyllia glaze when I gaze at my opened door.

But the night is still dreary

As I miss her charm

And I’m still weary

Like a workaholic farmer.

Reminescing of when it was still daylight,

More tears drooling from their seat tattoo my cheek;

No! We had never thought even of twilight,

And through each day, cloud-like glided with no foresight.

Like a barren prairie

I optimistically hope;

The dark is scary,

But my consolation is a dumb praying Pope.

The wall clock sings three and I acquaint despair,

For I realise the truth is yelling out.

I dry my tears, she won’t come, the truth stabs my Coeur.

But my wish for light is forever, past when I lose my hair.

Hope she’ll come back even as I occupy my hearse.

Farewell fair fairy,

My silken girl of Utopia,

My nights will always be dreary,

And great will my fear be,

But I shall be fine, Idyllia.

Nightmare #nightmare #halloween #scare

The beast burst out of the earth; birth of horror,
So bright white in colour, but for the horror you’d think it’s god,
I shuddered and cursed, my neighbours stuttered then turned.
My soul gutted by fear and in turn I turned and fled faster than Roadrunner.

Saw the others ahead and I’s tailing in the rear!
I wish I was a Ferrari to change gear and go faster than Schumacher!
But the creature came nearer at every step I dared
Till I hit a rock and landed flat on my bed.

All sweating! Phew! What kind of dream had I just had?
Anyway, I closed my eyes and in a few minutes was back to dreaming:
Colourful scenery, all covered in greenery
No more screaming…what’s that over there grinning?

Uh oh! It’s back to screaming, somebody call for help oh!
Before a young boy lose his life in a bone-filled blood pool
‘Cos those teeth I see below those eyes filled with greed
Could chew a Cat tractor; go figure what’ll do to me!

I run some more, but I’m running on my knees!
I see why I’ve been slower than Kanye on a beat,
And why my life chance are looking slimmer than Chantal Ayiss’
But as the jaw was about to close on me, my eyes opened and you bet I’m not falling back asleep!
